Description of the Bird

Had been sitting in a small chair watching/photographing  many species feeding on a large swarm of midge type flies on the leaves of a Black Hawthorne.  Did not see any species eat the tree fruit. Had been there for over an hour and stood up and was getting ready to leave when I spoted a long-tail weasel at the bottom of the hawthorne and shot a few pictures of it.  Then a few minutes later the Brown Thrasher popped out right in front of me at eye level but stayed halfway hidden.

Bird was rusty brown with large brown spots/streaks on the breast.  Had a slightly curved bill and a bold orange/yellow eye. White and black wingbars.

Got a few quick camera shots before it disappeared back into the hawthorne

Similar Species Discussion

None really because I have these occationally in my yard in Louisiana and the other thrashers are are not that rufous.  When I saw it I didn't know it was a Rarity for Colorado.

Previous Experience

Usually seen in my yard in Louisiana every year
