Description of the Bird

It was eating bird seed with other birds on my back porch.

Similar Species Discussion

 I considered that it migyht be a Morning Dove, but it wasn't because it was because it was much smaller and has a scale like pattern to its fwathers.

I was using a Nikon Camera.  I referenced the Peterson Field Guide Western Birds.  I'm also a retired wildlife biologist with over 40 years wildlife observation experience.

I'm a retired wildlife biologist with over 40 years of wildlife observation experience.  I worked for the federal forest service on all forests in Colorado among other states.
