Description of the Bird
The bird was walking around alone in the shallow water of a beaver pond. It kept putting it's beak into the water, but I did not observe it eat anything. When flying it quacked like a duck, but at a lower frequency, then would land in a different part of the wetland. Noticed it first last night at dusk and went back out this morning to look for it and found it in the same pond as the evening before. It has red eyes and it's feathers on it's lower body were blue-green in the sunshine, and the feathers on it's upper body were a dark red, appearing black.
Similar Species Discussion
Glossy Ibis. It was elminated because the observed bird had red eyes.
Previous Experience
None. This was the first time I've seen an Ibis
