Description of the Bird
Gray, long tail, white patches on wings only visible when extened. Ocassionally stretches out wings.
Similar Species Discussion
Townsends Solitaire, American Robin. Did not have bright eye circle such as the Solitaire, tail raises high. Did not have red breast.

I grew up in California where these birds are numerous.
Previous Experience
Familiar with this species, recently took a visit to California and spotted many.
